Steamboatin' Friends,

I know I'm not adding anything funny or historical to the site. With Jane, Dale, Judy, Frank, Travis and others doing such a great job, my experiences would probably be trivial. When I was a stage performer comedy came naturally to me, but it's different sitting in my computer chair. Oh, it's so much fun on my steamboat reunions because the "tiger" and "clown" in me seems to emerge again. Just get me to that piano.

I guess when I decided to spearhead the Save Our Queens campaign, November 2002, it became a heartfelt dedicated part of my life. I had to leave the Delta Queen Entertainment Department due to physical disabilities but I'll tell you a huge part of my heart will always remain with Delta Queen Steamboat Company. Sometimes my postings sound like I'm lecturing but I'm not. Please understand that when I come to the company's defense it's because I know how dedicated they are to keeping the steamboats cruising.

Thank you for letting me share my thoughts with you. They are not funny...they are not memorable...but they are sincere.

Steamboat Hugs, "Red Hot Mama" Phyllis

Note: Just talking a little about my time on the steamboats brought tears to my eyes. Lots of memories, my friends.
