When I was looking through an old Avalon log book which Doc had given me, I noticed they had to enter number of passengers embarking and disembarking. I thought that strange, then remembered that yes, it often was/is different on the DQ vessels! It hasn't happened on any of my cruises, but we did lose an asst. engineer once. They pulled into the fuel dock below Davenport in the middle of the night so the pax wouldn't notice. Of course I was up watching the unexpected landing
