Greetings:
Thanks Elaine for your wise words on 'grant writing.' You also hit the proverbial nail on the head. I never met you on any of the boats but it sounds like you've been around. Grant writing means being "concise, clear and brief." Targeting the 'key people' and their interests on grants boards is the trick. I've noted that many foundations today have moved to educational, social, medical, arts areas in making grants. Yet, as you say, it can be done. Also thanks to Keith Norrington for the update on the GOLDENROD and the Howard Steamboat Museum open house this Sunday. It's very well done and worth the time any steamboaters in the region to visit. I'm amazed how steamboats.org is growing in popularity and readership. Many thanks to Judy Patsch, Franz and Carmen for the work they devote on this. Hey, how about some Christmas steamboat pictures and stories! I bet Jane Greene has more than a few.
Regards,
R. Dale Flick
