Subject: Re: Remembering Letha Greene

I am sorry that so many of the nice folks who ride the DQ Company boats now and have become "hooked on steamboating" will never have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Greene. She truly was a "heroine" in every sense of the word -- and there would be NO Delta Queen today if not for her courage in the face of adversity. Miss Letha was always a very gracious lady and her 1973 book "LONG LIVE THE DELTA QUEEN" was merely a sampling of her fascinating life. Now, we're counting on Jane and her siblings to continue writing the saga of the Greene family steamboating dynasty! P.S. Jane, many of us who have been your friend for years greatly admire you for the same type of courage exhibited by your mother. She would be justifiably proud!
