Amen, Judy! Indeed, the GOLDENROD belongs back on the St. Louis levee! The late Frank Pierson and his colleagues saved the boat from oblivion after Capt. Menke found the task of rebuilding the boat after the June, 1962 fire to be too much. All of us who remember the "glory days" when the St. Louis riverfront bustled with boats and ragtime music would love to see the GOLDENROD brought back where she belongs. It was her home from 1937 until 1990, so why not again?! And as for that insensitive councilman who keeps calling the boat a "stupid thing", the late Dorothea Frye would say, "He DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE"!!!!
