Hello Capt. Mike! I've been following the progress of the DQ almost nightly by searching locations on the Corps of Engineers web site. It's fun to follow her travels this way...even at 3 or 4 AM!
I got a lot of fine video footage on the 75th Anniversary trip and I want to thank you again for your interview. I'm putting a program together now and hope to have it ready in a couple of weeks. I've got some really nice vintage shots, too...even some of the Admiral and President and several Greene Line boats. It should be pretty nice when we're done.
Even so, I somehow overlooked shooting any video of the floor shows or dinners so if anyone reads this and has some good video of these events that you'd let me use, I'd like to hear from you.
This was the first DQ cruise for my wife and I but it certainly won't be our last. It's amazing how that beautiful boat clings to one's soul.
Meanwhile, I'm getting up steam on my own little sternwheeler. The scent of coal smoke and mellow whistle sounds are similar to the golden age on the river but I'm afraid, at 21ft, our amenities pale in comparison to the DQ!
