this is a steamboat, although not a paddlewheel driven riverboat, but a green water cousin, the steel hulled "laker" STR. SOUTHDOWN CHALLENGER began it's 98th season on the Great Lakes this week...I bet in 1906 they never dreamed the boat would still be operating in 2004!
