Hi, Judy ... My, my, but you are really looking like a genius with your
predictions on this subject from last year. No one has their ear to the
ground like you do. (I believe you have heard that from me before ....)
After reading that link you provided from the TP, I find myself trying
hard not to be angry with the Abramson quotes (he was on part of the
DQ Phyllis reunion trip in November with a lot of us and of course none
of this was mentioned) and with the "shock" and astonishment
expressed that the (well-heeled, non-DQ passenger) people in the
focus groups were shocked and astonished that there hasn't been
casino gambling on the boats heretofore. All this shock and
astonishment. Reminiscent of politicians and government types who
know what they want to do and present "information" to justify the
means of getting there. Phew .... all those bucks on lobbyists. No
wonder rates are so high. I'm sure that DN is counting on those of us
who love the DQ hoping all of this will benefit her, and that we will be
content that they (so far) (I hope) aren't messing around with her and
are keeping her well staffed, well maintained and on focus for those of
us who love her crew, the joy of being on her, and the peace and quiet
of the river. I'm working on my very best deep breathing and Buddhist
equanimity and compassion practice in this matter ....
