Subject: Louisiana shore stops and "on shore" entertainment

years ago, when the landing at "under the hill" was being rebuilt in Natchez...the DQ landed at Vidalia, LA, across the river...and shuttle buses took passengers across to Natchez...also years ago....we went 3 years in a row to the "Dixieland & Jazz Music" themed cruise...5 nights from NOLA, to Natchez and back....always had 3 nights of "on shore" entertainment...one year (March 1991) we had the Preservation Hall Band, the New Orleans Hot Jazz and Pete Fountain with his band all on the same cruise (1st, 3rd and 5th night, respectively)...we'd pull over by a ferry landing and take them on, and let them off at yet another ferry landing after their show, despite that....made for one of the more memorable vacations on the DQ
as far as musical entertainment goes....
