Dale....Thanks so much for these postings. I for one find them fascinating and very informative. For us on the inland waterways we tend to get very ethnocentric and forget that fine steamboats were built in other places also. We get very upset seeing evidence that Jim Burns might have been a better boat builder than Jim Howard. I know I'm getting on very mushy ground comparing the two, but a Burns boats has been operating for over 70 yrs. and I don't see any Howard boats running today. Keep the postings coming.
