The mate let the last line go at 7:35 and Her Majesty was enroute to meet her subjects up and down the river. What a festive day - champagne, food, decorations everywhere. In addition to the first trip activities, there was a birthday party in the Orleans Room at 3. The Natchez came up after 4 and Debbie Fagnano serenaded us with I Aint down yet and Happy Birthday, among the selections. I was able to meet all 5 of the board members on this trip, and yes, Sam got chocolate chip cookies too. The boat looks wonderful as you would expect if you've been reading the postings all summer. One unexpected pleasure was getting to meet Richard Stevens, the President of Delaware North. He is making this trip, and I dare say he'll make a few more. The Lady will get him! I'm sure Sam, Becky, Mary Ann, Pat, and Peggy will have more to say about this after the trip. But I feel the DQ, MQ, and AQ couldn't have had a happier ending to the bankruptcy mess than to come under the umbrella of Delaware North. Here's a Planter's Punch to you, Richard (and Tony too)..........
