Hi, Jane: Yeah, that's it--Irene Firestone. Thanks for the story about 'Army/Navy' on the GORDON. Keith and I've talked about Firestone's book 'Sycamore Shores.' Yes, it is a 'river' book. Anybody out there interested should consult your local library or used book store. No doubt long out of print. Firestone rode many of the Greene boats going way back. Local photographer Paul Briol did the black/white art photos for the book. He originally hailed from a prominent banking family but switched to journalism/newspapers early on. He could afford to. His book 'Coasts of Illusion' focuses more on philosophy, myths and legends. Cheers, R. Dale Flick
