Subject: Memories to descendants

Dale, John Hartford told me a weird one:
He had a dream about seeing steamboats pass an office window, where he had to kneel on a bench to see over the sill. He told his family about it and his mother said, "Why that was your great uncle's office down in Carondelet! I used to do that when I was a little girl."
John swore his mother had never told him about doing that until he revealed his dream and that he had never heard of the place. He also never met the great uncle.
Since John told me that I have wondered if migrating birds share their mothers' memories, carried genetically. It could explain call what we term intuition.
