I have been enjoying your messages from the sidelines about the progress of the trials and tribulations of our beloved steamboats. You may or may not remember me from when I ran the Purser's office on the Delta Queen after transffering from the MQ. I was one of the original crew members that helped bring the MQ out of the shipyard in 1976 and was in the Purser's office for the President Carter trip. I left the company at the end of the 1980 season but like most people that have been associated with the boats, my heart has never left.
