Steamer S.S. Klondike

The S.S. Klondike is one of the very few remaining paddlewheel steamboats on the Yukon River. In the times of the great gold rush on the Klondike near Dawson, the Whitehorse - Dawson route for vital for the gold prospectors to get to the gold fields relatively quickly. The S.S. Klondike today is a beautifully restored and well cared-for museum boat offering daily tours throughout the boat. Parks Canada does a great job in maintaining the steamer S.S. Klondike in perfect condition on a site right next to the Yukon River at Whitehorse, Y.T.
