Paddlewheel Steamboating Society of America is back

October 17th, 2012

The American Queen Steamboat Company has announced the re-launch of the Paddlewheel Steamboating Society of America loyalty program, which has been re-established to welcome and recognize steamboaters in special ways throughout the year. For many years, the Paddlewheel Steamboating Society of America hosted its honored travelers from the Delta Queen, Mississippi Queen and American Queen on specially arranged insider experiences ashore prior to voyages and the tradition has returned once again with the re-launch of the American Queen.

“The loyal community of former Paddlewheel Steamboating Society of America members has played a major role in bringing authentic steamboating to fruition once again and we are grateful for their support during our inaugural season,” shares American Queen Steamboat Company CEO Jeffrey D. Krida. “Those new to steamboating will become a member during this reunion voyage and be enthusiastically welcomed into this passionate community.”

When guests reserve the Old Fashioned Holidays cruise aboard the legendary American Queen from December 14 to 21, 2012, they will be invited to a pre-cruise Reunion Celebration in New Orleans from December 12 to 14. The package includes two nights’ accommodations at The Roosevelt New Orleans and a gala cocktail in the hotel’s famed Blue Room. Other exclusive features include brunch at The Court of Two Sisters in the heart of the French Quarter, motorcoach city tour, holiday party at the private residence of Houmas House Plantation owner Kevin Kelly, dinner and dancing with the Dixieland Band at the Palm Court Jazz Café and tour of the WWII Museum.

Upon boarding the American Queen, guests will experience a seven-night New Orleans roundtrip voyage calling on Oak Alley, La.; St. Francisville, La.; Natchez, Miss.; Vicksburg, Miss.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Houmas House, La. The Old Fashioned Holidays fare begins at $1,995 per person, based on double occupancy. In addition to pre-cruise festivities, all shore tours onboard deluxe “Steamcoaches” in all ports are included along with complimentary wine and beer with dinner and a host of other amenities.
