Lake Charles/Choctaw - built 1990/91

Length 80', 6'', beam 28'. Identical 1800 HP twin screw diesel towboats designed and built by Balehi Marine, Lacombe, LA. These two boats were built for Conoco Oil to work on the lower Mississippi and Gulf Intercostal Waterway.

The plans, researched and drawn by John Fryant, are designed especially for a radio controlled model and are offered in two scales; 1/24th and 1/32nd. A 1/24th scale model will be 40 1/4'' long by 14'' beam and if built for R/C operation will weigh aprox.45 lbs. The 1/32 scale model built for R/C operation will be 31 3/8'' long by 10 1/2'' beam and will weigh aprox. 30 lbs. Each plan set includes 5 sheets and two color photos of the real boats as newly built. The 1/32nd scale set is a reduction of the larger set, so the R/C fittings, servo installations and motor mounts shown will be smaller than actual size. However, there will still be ample room inside the model for any type of R/C equipment.
