Thought that you might be interested in a model that is being built for the CLERMONT Historic Site. The boat will be approximately 90" long. The two photos are of the steam engine assembly. the wood sled is 19" long and about 9" high . The large gears are around 3 1/4" in dia. this is about the size of a 6' tall man. The cylinder is 1" in dia. and about 5 inches high. Everything so far is made from maple. except for the cylinder this is just a piece of 1" copper pipe with some detailed work on the top from wood and brass. The model maker is now working on the paddle wheels from sketches that I sent him.

Apparently the boat will be on display at Clermont May thru December. After that it will go on a Museum tour in NY. An interesting side note is that the Clermont group is having the model of the Clermont used in the 1940 movie "Little Old New York" shipped from California for the 200th anniversary celebration.
