Default AQ's Woes

Today the AQ sits in Augusta, Kentucky on a planned shore stop. She didn't arrive this morning using her steam machinery nor will she leave using the paddlewheel. The Ol' Gal has done it again! She cracked her shaft while heading up to Huntington, WVa. So for the near future she'll be strictly a diesel electric boat which her COI states she is anyway. No longer does her COI list her as having steam propulsion. In the words of Fred Way, "Too bad, too bad."

Most passengers don't have a clue anyway about the costs that lay ahead for the American Queen Steamboat Co. to fix or replace the shaft or that her COI says diesal electric. Life goes on aboard as if nothing has happened and the river keeps rolling on.
