I am currently trying to get a job with the Lake Dillon Water Taxi. My biggest concern would be the sudden wind gusts that come off the mountains. I am not new to sudden wind gusts, but would like to see what happens in the mountains, clock some wind speeds, talk to people, etc. This could have an effect on a low powered boat with a lot of sail area (AKA paddlewheel steamboat). A not very pleasant effect: operating a boat in high, gusty wind, one may experience what some call the pucker effect. Another boat tour is getting ready to go in at Twin Lakes, just as soon as they jump through all the US Forest Service hoops. These tours all use pontoon boats.
