The annual "Fall into Art" exhibition at the Howard Steamboat Museum is now open! Entitled
SEEN FROM LIFE: PEOPLE, WORK and STEAMBOATS 1885-1932, the display this year is focused upon some 50+ enlarged photographs made from the glass plate negatives taken by Capt. Jim Howard.
The opening reception will be on Sunday, November 6th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM and includes a program at 2:00 by Ted Wathen on
Ohio River Photographers in Context. Refreshments will be served in the dining room. The showing is free of charge and available during regular museum hours. Tours of the mansion and upstairs exhibits are available for regular admission fees.
On the following Sunday (November 13th) the program (2:00) will be entitled
Remembrances and will include a panel of Ruth Richter Heffern (granddaughter of James and Loretta Howard), Capt. Alan Bates, Kenny Howe, Jim Reising and Keith Norrington.
The November 20th (closing day program 2:00) will be given by Paul Paletti on
Processes and Collecting. A profusely illustrated catalog of the exhibition is available in the museum gift shop for $20 and by mail for $25.
