Default D.Q was in USCG in WW2

I know there is much history of the Delta Queen serving in the Navy in WW2. Here is a link to the USCG HQ web site and its listing for the Delta Queen.

When I joined in 1977 I was stationed at Coast Guard island at Alameda. I was told that the DQ tied up there during WW2.

The Coast Guard was transferred to the Navy from the Treasury Department at the start of the war and remained so till the end.

It is an interesting quirk in history.
