Default Joseph Henry - 1880

Hi! I am new to this site and I am very pleased to hopefully be a part of it. Your site was given to me by the people at Mystic Seaport who said that you would be in a better position to help me.
I am scratch building POF the Joseph Henry. In the interest of accuracy, what was the coloration of the main deck? What kind of wood was most likely used? Was it left just natural and sealed or were the decks painted? I hope you get the gist of my inquiry. Any help would be much appreciated.

Chris Stevens
