Just a note for those who like to plan ahead and mark their calendars. This year's presenter on my "River Ramblings" program series (#5) at the Howard Steamboat Museum & Mansion will be none other than our own Capt. Alan L. Bates. The date for the program is
Saturday, July 18th at 3:00 PM (EDT) in the carriage house, which is currently being painted and spruced up.
I've titled this program
"River Reflections", inasmuch as Alan has graciously agreed to do a presentation concerning his various river experiences over the decades. There will be ample time for questions and I know Alan will be happy to autograph copies of his many books and steamboat plans, all of which are available for purchase in the museum gift shop!
Admission is $5 per person and all proceeds benefit the museum's operating fund. Judy Patsch will, as usual, provide the chocolate chip cookies!
More information will be forthcoming on the museum website at
Howard Steamboat Museum - Home Page
No reservations necessary. Please join us!
