Default str. EAST ST. LOUIS

The answer to Jim Reising's previous thought-provoking thread was the excursion steamer EAST ST. LOUIS. So here are a few more pictures of her. She started out as the packet VIRGINIA, then was renamed STEEL CITY while still a packet. Her 2 incarnations as an excursion boat were the EAST ST. LOUIS and the GREATER NEW ORLEANS.
1) Just because one boat is said to have been another previously doesn't mean it will look the same or even be close in physical structure. Here is the original form of the boat, the packet VIRGINIA (not in a cornfield here)
2) As the EAST ST. LOUIS she's added a deck - looks like the GCG deal - did they just jack up the pilothouse and Texas and add a deck? She's leaving Madison, probably the most photographed site on all the rivers.
3) Her hog chains are pretty prominent in this one. Also note the extra tube railing isn't on yet. And the Texas isn't there - so is this prior to or after the previous pix and configuration???
