"Christmas Belle"

Although it has been discontinued, for several Christmas seasons the Str. BELLE OF LOUISVLLE was aglow in holiday lights at the Fourth Street Wharf. I took the attached photos in December, 2002. The red and green lights are actually plastic sleeves that were cut and placed over the usual white bulbs that outline the decks and pilothouse.

Capt. Jim Blum told me that, back in the early 1970's when the Str. BECKY THATCHER was still at St. Louis as a restaurant, her decks were adorned in colored lights for the Christmas season. I've seen a few houseboats out on the Ohio with yuletide decorations as well.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
