Belle of Louisville

I have been doing some research on the Belle of Louisville and have noticed over the years there have been several different Captains/Masters. I was wondering who everyone thinks was the best Captain for the boat and without that captain would the boat be in the shape it is today or even be here?

In the many decades the Belle has sailed under her other identities and the scant few years I've served on her, I'd be foolish to try to answer such questions. I've worked with three of her captains, now, and I've met another. I will say, though, from what I've learned in my steamboat education is how important the relationship between the Captain and Chief Engineer is, and has been, to the success of Belle and others of her kind.
