Who was "Pat Wilson"?
I like to re-read all of my books from time to time. One that I recently got off the shelf and have been reading at bedtime is "The River's In My Blood" by Jane Curry. I have always loved this book. In it, she profiles a pilot who she calls Pat Wilson, but says it is a pseudonym. This "Pat Wilson" was a contemporary of Bill Tippitt, Arthur McArthur and Ray Prichard. She says he has a light named after him on the Lower Mississippi, and in all the interviews Pat is mentioned as being a crackerjack pilot, but he was also a kleptomaniac. He had been a Memphis policeman prior to his coming on the river.
Does anyone know who this "Pat Wilson" might be? The first person that came to mind for me was Bob Boles, who has a light named for him on the Lower, and who I know Harry Louden knew. Any confirmation or suggestions?
