Default STR John W. Cannon

Hi everyone, I've run across some interesting pics of steamboats in New Orleans. They're stereographs (2 images together to create a 3-d effect) and are from the Louisiana State Museum's digital archives.

There are two photos of the steamer John W. Cannon. I decided to post these if anything just to draw attention to the smokestacks on this vessel. They're huge! Not to mention very ornate, but just look at the height on them in the second set of photos:
