Rosemary, the conference to which you refer was in conjunction with a quaterly called the EGREGIOUS STEAMBOAT JOURNAL, published by Mr. Jack Custer of Louisville. It is now defunct. This publication ran for about 2 (?) years in the 1990's.

Capt. David Smith is currently editor of another more established quarterly on river history, the S&D REFLECTOR, published by the Sons & Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen. Perhaps David (who is from the Catlettsburg/Ashland area) can help you in your quest.

Good luck on your are in the right place!
