Model I.D. ?
This isn't a standard question for this venue, but I though that there is enough knowledge that one of you may be able to help identify the origin of this model.
I recently purchased a whimsical display model of the Clermont Steamboat. It's approx 14" long x 13" High X 4.5" wide. The Hull is light blue crackle paint below the water line and white above. The sails are canvas.
It sits on a black base with "Clermont" screened on the front face. On the top surface to the back is a coin slot. The bottom surface slides open to reveal the coin box. On the inside unfinished surface of the cover is written in pencil:
“C. Eugene Cramer- 3/20/78”
Are there any ideas as to its origin? It came from an 87 year old collector in Florida who was recently admitted to a healthcare facility. He is not the individual above. It looks like it may have been produced off shore.
