Default M/V MISSISSIPPI IV now high & dry at Vicksburg

The M/V MISSISSIPPI IV, successor to the Str. MISSISSIPPI III, now the BECKY THATCHER at Marietta, has been lifted out of the river and literally rolled to the riverfront site at Vicksburg where she will be an integral part of the new river museum and interpretive center, slated to open in 2009. The boat had languished in the Yazoo for 10 years while awaiting a decision on her future. This is going to be quite a project! Here's a photo of the newly "beached" MISSISSIPPI and one of her predecessor, taken at St. Louis in 1970.
