Hi All,

I heard from a close friend yesterday that they had heard on NPR that grants and fundraising efforts to save the steam towboat W.P. Snyder, Jr. have been successful and that the boat is to receive a new hull soon. Has anyone heard any additional information about this? Also does any one have an idea on who will get the contract to put a new hull on the boat? Hopefully someone with a great reputation and the TLC that it will require to remove the old and put on a new hull. Certainly I am thrilled to hear the good news for the Snyder, but now feel strongly that "we" need to focus our collective efforts on another historic inland vessel(s) in need of saving.
