Fred Way had a picture of the sister boat to this in a RFLECTOR once. The sister boat’s name was DWIGHT DAVIS, if I recall correctly. I THINK he talked about how it was originally steam, converted to diesel.
Now, I haven’t seen that in over 20 years. Why do I remember that?
the boat is the Geo. T. Price. Built 1925 by Ward at Charleston, WV. In 1945 was owned by American Barge Line. By 1946 was in the O.F. Shearer & Son fleet. Sold in 1968 to M/G Transport. Out of service 1971.
Morning Bob and Bill and all,
Thanks for the info. I remember seeing the Price back in the mid 1960's. The 1949 IRR list the Geo. T. Price as being build by Ward as a diesel in 1925. Keep your steam up! Russ

Thanks, Bob. 1946 IRR shows her Ward built in 1929 steam converted to diesel in 1948. Do you know when your photo was taken? Russ
