At this point, the vote is up to 84 Yes, 12 No. A simple majority was all that was needed for passage. A huge win both in the margin achieved and its impact on bringing the Delta Queen closer to returning to overnight river cruising!

Congratulations to Jo Ann, the DQ's owners, and all who worked so hard on this effort!

St Louis local TV station ch 2 (Fox) ran a teaser on their 2100 newscast and a short story w/photos on their 2200 newscast. Story did indicate that passage in House was next step. Jefferson County, MO was quoted as saying how many dollars would benefit the City of Kimmswick and Jefferson County.

I sent emails and both my wife and I called our senators (Rubio and Nelson) yesterday morning. At that time, we were told that Nelson had not made up his mind and the Rubio aide was unsure how Rubio would vote. Gave 'em both my spiel and told them a lot of Floridians are patrons of the DQ. Both of them voted in favor of the bill. I can't say I was influential but I was smiling by 6:00 pm. - Jim Herron

Regarding the House, I live in the District represented by Andy Harris, which is also home to Chesapeake Shipbuilding, owned by ACL. Sigh.

Congrats again to Jo Ann and the team at DQSB!
