    This beautiful and rare steamboat model will be auctioned November 7th at Selkirk Auctioneers & Appraisers in St. Louis.Selkirk Auctioneers & Appraisers The gallery is under new ownership. The Jeffers, who have owned Garth's in Ohio for 20 years, bought the Selkirk name.

    In addition to gallery auctions, you can bid remotely by phone or online.

    Seeing this model in person is very cool. It's extremely intricate with rigging and details. It's about 18 inches high x 42 inches long

    Thanks, Mary, for sharing the photo and posting RE: the "Rare AC Payne Model Steamboat." The photo is interesting but another from the 'side' perspective would show more. I don't know about AC Payne but, no doubt, others here like master model builder John Fryant would know. In my view the model, though admirable, would fit more in the category of 'folk art' in rendering, work, scale. And, like Frank Prudent, I'll also "pass on this one." Let us know how the auction goes. Again, what do I know?
