NSB leaders want Delta Queen questions resolved - News


• “Heller will be asked to answer about 40 questions regarding his plans -- ranging from what effect the boat would have on Intracoastal Waterway traffic and navigation to where the vessel would be docked during a hurricane.”

• “Some city commissioners have said they need to see approvals for the Delta Queen from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Florida Inland Navigation District and the U.S. Coast Guard among other agencies before they could ultimately consider the project.”

• Article reports that Heller met with the Corps of Engineers about the agency’s procedures and requirements and discussed the issues that must be addressed for a permit to be issued. In an email, Corps of Engineers spokeswoman Nancy Sticht said, “We have not yet received an application relative to this proposal so have no further information to share at this time."

• “Heller could not be reached for comment Thursday.”
