Steamboating colleagues:
Thanks for keeping us posted on the progress with the re-emerging AMERICAN QUEEN preparing for her long anticipated entry in the river cruise market.

Word arrived via business B=Mail this week announcing that BLOUNT MARINE, formerly AMERICAN CANADIAN CARIBBEAN LINE [ACCL] of Waren, Rhode Island will be cruising its 96-passenger GRAND CARIBE on six Mississippi and Cumberland River trips up from three in 2012. Cruises will be Nashville-Memphis, Memphis-New Orleans and New Orleans-Nashville. Several of us on this web have cruised when them back in their earlier AMERICAN CANADIAN days aboard the original M/V MOUNT HOPE and others. The company was founded by Capt. Luther Blount, a near spitting image of Capt. John Beatty, with a large shipyard in Warren, RI.

The GRAND CARIBE is 184 feet with draft of 6.5 feet and not at all like the AMERICAN QUEEN
