Good detective work! During Gustav several old Navy ships at Southern got loose and rattled around the canal. I think they now have to remove them to safer areas. But that was certainly a handy spot...

Unfortunately the PRESIDENT wasn't the last steamboat to have a bagged boiler. The NATCHEZ did, during a summer when I was working on her. In fact, I think both boilers were bagged in different...
