I just felt the urge to post this picture with so wonderful memories attached to it.

We were at the Kingfish's restaurant near the Louisville water tower that day, waiting for the Delta Queen passing by. And promptly right before sunset, there she was. Just enough light left for taking good pictures.

We were standing at the old, partly broken-down boat landing there, waving. And what a treat - the pilot blew the whistle for us. I don't know whether he was just in the mood to blow the whistle for the crowd at the restaurant watching or whether he recognized us standing there, waving. I decided to take it as a personal salute anyway :-)

The next day, when the Delta Queen left Louisville, it was the last time we saw her before she lost her exemption.
