Default AQ and MARAD

The AQ's season ends this week. Has anyone heard of her ownership afterwards? She still has a mortgage and obviously would go back to MARAD due to that, but when would that happen, only if and after her current owner declares bankruptcy? Or can the owner just turn her over and say, she's yours? When a vessel returns to MARAD, I believe there is a 6 month waiting period before she can be sold, so I'd say the sooner the better to MARAD. And I recall looking at her laid up in NOLA during the AMCV bankruptcy, and there were seals over the doors by MARAD to protect her from looting, both by the owner and the 'levee lifters', as Bill Judd calls them. So all in all, unless somebody steps up and buys her this week, I'd say immediate MARAD babysitting is the best option.
