"Godspeed, Delta Queen" Theme Song by Dan Landau
Here comes wonderful news - Dan Landau, performer, songwriter and producer from Cincinnati has dedicated his new song about the Delta Queen to the "Save the Delta Queen" campaign: "Godspeed, Delta Queen".

Watch the music video at Youtube: or listen just to the song in MP3 format (). And of course both is also available at .

Please feel free to download and spread on the song, and if you have a website, please put the Youtube video on this site.

Besides having written a lot of great songs, Dan also has written and performed the official theme song of the Farewell Ceremony of Tall Stacks '95. Thanky you very much, Daniel Landau, for supporting the efforts to save the Delta Queen!

This video sure brings tears my eyes. We've got to get it to our legislators. Daniel, thank you for your beautiful and inspirational voice and lyrics What a tribute to our special lady, the Delta Queen. God bless Daniel for giving us this musical memory.

Steamboatin' Forever,
Phyllis Dale

Oh my god, absolutely beautiful! Definitely got a reaction outa me. Where is that box of Kleenex when you really need it? Matter of fact I watched it twice, same reaction both times. I'm gonna be a mess in October, hopefully not...

I think Franz you are a little too modest, all your videos, right? Perfect for the music.

And is that a younger "Captain" in the DQ's engine room? :-)

yes, I made all these videos and photos. But the full credit really belongs to Dan Landau for his wonderful music that is so inspiring.

And yes, that's little Capt. Leonie in the engine room of the Delta Queen. It's about 5 years ago, she must have been 2 or 3 years old then. It's actually the only video footage I have from the Delta Queen's engine room. I do have tons of pictures from any corner of the engine room including the sections where you normally can't just walk in. But surprisingly I couldn't find any more video footage of the engine room in my files.

By the way, let's not forget about the wonderful "Save the Delta Queen" video Jon Tschiggfrie made a couple of weeks ago. Jon's video is highly educative and very much recommended to be forwarded to local TV stations and politicians to learn about our cause in detail.

Oh my Gosh!!! I just got to work and first thing I do is check I did have a warning ahead of time that this might be up and running. I bawled like baby!!! Tears running down my cheeks, snotty nose and all! Thank heavens none of my coworkers are here yet!!! I was getting ready to say something nasty about our Congress, but I know it would probably be taken out, but everyone here knows what I'm getting at. We've got to get this song and footage on all the airways, radio and TV news nationwide. How can I help?!?!?!?!

I think you took those videos on our aborted St. Louis/Nashville trip, didn't you? Your opening shot is at Savannah Tennessee, probably taken the week after our cruise when you returned for the WalMart grand opening? I'm glad you took Capt./Chief Leonie to the Engine Room - remember what happened when you left her in Oma Judy's charge when you visited the Boiler Room????

What a beautiful tribute--it's what we all feel! I immediately forwarded the link on, just so others can hear that whistle. I love the song, the video is great. It must be seen!!

Franz Neumeier 01-22-2008 07:53 AM

Judy, you're right. Some of the video clips are from that Nashville trip, a few other scenes are from the 2005 Great Steamboat Race.

I love the video and added it to my favorites in Youtube. I also showed it to the steam whistle group that I moderate. We have well over 500 members in this group. The more people who know about it, the better the chances are that we can save the Delta Queen. I grew up with the DQ and would hate to see it removed from service, so I'm doing what I can to help spread the word.
