Save the DQ history

Lots of background and info on the 1970-72 battle on Nori Munsters web site Steamboats.com. Great detail and intrique. Bribery and a witch's curse on the DQ. Lots I didn't know even though I was involved. Its worth reading.

Ther's a lot more that's never been written....

Maybe it's time it was written. We aren't all here forever, and I'd sure hate to lose some "juicy" history!! :)
Besides, might be a trick or two that we could use for this campaign!

DQ and SOLAS

I sent a lengthy message via save the Delta Queen. Not sure if it gets into these realms but will post a copy FYI. I am beginning to understand the definition of antique seeing as how I am the only one around who was present at the first hearing in Washington in 1967 or thereabouts. To legislate the end of the DQ( in effect) is tantamount to ordering the dismantling of the STATUE of LIBERTY. That is a fact that may be significant. I was present when the DQ obtained that status. The most effective way to turn this travesty around will be to mount legislation. I am considering whether there are other options. Perhaps a direct assault in the courts. Or a combination of challenges. My thoughts are still pretty new and there will be things/hurdles to negociate. Still that is a thought. And as Yogi said "It ain't over 'til it's over." GCG

Surely the DELTA QUEEN has friends in the Congress as she did in 1970 and subsequent years. The old gal needs another Marlo W. Cook (R. KY). This whole issue is a so murky that it seems to be all smoke and mirrors. As friends of the DELTA QUEEN, we need direction--- a course to steer with a steady hand on the wheel, so to speak. Please keep us posted as to your thoughts.
