Buy MAL

Let's talk Carter, Leno, Kiellor and Clooney to buy MAL. That will get their attention!

Shoot, John, when I saw your name in the reply area, I figured you were offering to buy it!!!!! (How many models would you need to sell to....)

John Fryant 08-07-2007 10:35 PM

In their quarterly financial report Ambassadors today is mentioning, in conjunction with the DQ issue, that "the asset [i.e. the Delta Queen] was recoverable and no impairment charge was required as of June 30, 2007." That to me means that they're expecting to get a reasonable amount of money for her when selling her. A question comes to my mind, reading this: How can they be so sure about this? Do they probably even have a buyer? Do they already know what to do with her after 2008? Or is this statement just a CFO's or laywer's trick to keep the shareholders under control?

Here is the Ambassador's financial report: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070807/latu217.html?.v=1

Looking at the Ambassador financial report, it appears that the name Delta Queen has become a registered trademark. Note the next to the name each time it appears. Does this mean you can't mention or write the name without AI or MAL's permission?

Perhaps now we'll have to call her "the asset" as AI did in the report.

Since I've been a small child and in love with her, she's always been just "the DELTA" to me. So when we pool our nickels and dimes and buy her from the scrap heap since we won't be able to use the name DELTA QUEEN - we'll just call her "DELTA". GGGGRRRRRRRR, as Bruno would say! I'm still hoppin' mad that we have to deal with this!
