What to see, where to stay in Memphis

We get off the DQ on March 24, and will have most of a day in Memphis. Any recommendations as to what to see and where good lodging may be found (inexpensive lodging, not necessarily cheap lodging)? I've been reading my AAA guide book and checking online, and am getting more confused as time goes by!
