Maurice Hardy has passed
this just in from Charlene:
It is with great sadness that I pass along this news of the passing of our beloved friend, Maurice Hardy. As many of you know, he has been through many medical difficulties over the past few years.

What a blessing to have had this beautiful man in our lives. No matter what was going on in his life, his first concern was always with the people around him. He faced it all with a tremendous faith and a hearty laugh.

May he rest in eternal peace.

When the DQ returns to service, I think it would be more than appropriate to name a room after "Big Mo".

I am truly sorry to hear this. RIP sweet man.

He will be missed by so many. He made the Orleans Room "an experience".

From another generation of pax...
This is a name I'm not familiar with. What position did he have?

Pete Sisak 06-08-2017 11:18 PM

Judy, he was a porter in the diningroom for many years.

Many fond memories of Maurice in travelling the Delta Queen with my grandfather & parents. He always had table 70 saved for my Mom,and coming down for any meal, our beverages were always set...I even sold him parts for his Fleetwood over the years! He was a great guy and he'll be missed
