Viking Cruises got to the Nile and the Mekong but not St. Paul anytime soon

Interesting article regarding Viking Cruise Line and its struggles to gain traction for it's Mississippi River cruises.

Doesn't sound like they will be starting up operations anytime soon.

Very interesting article, CJ, and I must say I am not surprised. While I wish Viking well in their attempt to enter the US river cruise market, there are a number of issues taht have been brought up both here and on several Facebook pages/forums. As to infrastructure construction in St. Paul, I think St. Paul is a better set-up than most places along the river...Lambert Landing would be a good landing for the type boats they plan to run. Most other cities would have to spend a considerable amount in construction of a (probably) floating dock to accommodate these boats. So the wait continues...
