DQ Stern Droop
Thanks to Judy's excellent DQ timeline on facebook, it looks to me like the post new hull stern droop has gotten worse over the years. Maybe it's just an optical illusion, but that's the way it looks to me.
I have to admit that I've hated the new hull every since I first saw it. It looked and still does to me that they put her majesty in a box and being stern heavy she's always climbing a hill. The shape and curves of the old hull were beautiful.

In a word, the new hull is UGLY. It may be purposeful, but I think it has hampered handling and reduced wheel power. IMHO, the wheel is too deep in the water now. And while some argue that the droop doesn't exist, just one look inside the Betty Blake lounge rear area shows the droop--none of the doors and paneling line up anymore. This is one situation where the wood superstructure has enough flexibilty to adapt to the change, where as steel would have buckled. Again, IMHO, I'm not an structural engineer, just someone with lots of experience around old wood structures.
