Default High water havoc

The flood has not only changed the AQ's schedules, but it's fouling up a lot of Fourth of July activities around here. We have a big fireworks display between RI and Davenport usually shot off from a barge, but they are doing it from the Centennial Bridge tonight. So the bridge is partially closed all day and totally closed during the show. LeClaire Park is still under, so no viewing from there and also no Blues Fest there this weekend. It has been moved up to 2nd Street in downtown Davenport, not exactly as scenic as the park...Boaters who usually anchor in the river to watch the fireworks have been advised not to this year, and other land viewing areas are either underwater or inaccessible due to road closures. All these items pertain to Davenport - the RI festivities in Schwiebert Park (the old levee and armory site) will go on as scheduled thanks to our floodwall. The river crested Monday at 18.1, 3.1 over flood stage. I think this is the second highest of the four this season. Drought last year, perpetual flooding this year...
