A long and loud whistle salute -- and a rendition of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on the cally-ope for David Tschiggfrie, former DQ crew member and Dubuque steamboat historian/buff second to none! I won't disclose his age, but a couple of clues are that he was "launched" the same year that the DQ came to the Mississippi and the ISLAND QUEEN blew up at Pittsburgh!

People simply don't come any finer than Dave and one of the many and great blessings in my life is his loyal and true friendship of the past 35+ years!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!!! And many THANKS again to you and son Jonathan (a very fine young man!) for that fabulous program on the Str. AVALON at the Howard Steamboat Museum this past July. The sternline telegraph informs me that people are still buzzing about it ---- as well they should be!
